50000 - 55000 per annumBuckinghamshire, England Permanent Our client, a leading company in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Configuration Engineer to join their team in Buckinghamshire. This permanent position plays a crucial role within the Antennas Business Unit, ensuring the meticulous management and change of configured items in both legacy and development products. This role involves supporting the Engineering function's transition to the SolidWorks Manage PLM system.Key Responsibilities:Apply aerospace configuration standards to company configured itemsManage the problem report and change notification process via the PLM toolset (SolidWorks Manage)Continuously improve the change management processRun the Change Control Board with Aerospace configuration best practicesGenerate and manage customer approvals and notifications of changeEnsure quality of design documentation, provide guidance to design engineers, and prepare for quality auditsGovernance and control of the company-wide PDM/PLM systems, including maintenance and developmentSupport document and drawing reviews and approvalsManage configuration requirements relating to customer contractsGenerate customer-specific configuration management plansJob Requirements:Engineering background, preferably in the aerospace industryWorking knowledge of aerospace configuration standardsAttention to detail, with an ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentsUnderstanding of industry best practices for change management and a drive for continual improvementExperience with PDM, PLM, and CM tools (e.g., Windchill, AllChange, SolidWorks Manage)Experience with data control in both design and manufacturing environmentsExcellent communication skills and ability to work across functions and business unitsBenefits:Competitive salaryOpportunity to work on a variety of innovative and challenging projectsProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentComprehensive employee benefits packageIf you are an experienced Configuration Engineer looking for a new opportunity in the Defence & Security sector, we would love to hear from you.
