About the role

Wrexham’s Occupational Therapy Team is committed to helping people live as independently as possible through a strengths‑based approach that promotes choice, control, and wellbeing.

We are seeking a Moving & Handling Advisor to join our Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Occupational Therapists across a variety of settings, including adults with long‑term conditions, learning disabilities, paediatrics, reablement, and hospital discharge services.

About the Role

You will support the delivery of the Moving with Dignity Policy, helping citizens and carers adopt safe, person‑centred moving and handling practices. Working closely with Occupational Therapists, care providers, health colleagues, commissioning teams, and families, you will:

  • Support moving and handling interventions in community settings
  • Conduct follow‑up visits following Occupational Therapist assessments
  • Demonstrate equipment and safe moving and handling techniques
  • Promote best practice and support the implementation of care plans
  • Deliver and support moving and handling training (RoSPA assured) across services

You will receive regular supervision from Occupational Therapists and have the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in moving and handling.

Training and Development

  • People Handling and Risk Assessment training
  • Train the Trainer qualification
  • Moving with Dignity and Proportionate Care training
  • Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training
