Special Education Teacher (Secondary SEMH/SEND) Location: Loughborough Pay: £190–£240 per day (DOE) Duration: Full-time | Long-term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities Start: Immediate, or September starts available Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Education Teacher to join a specialist secondary setting supporting pupils aged 11–16 with a range of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and Special Educational Needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes through a nurturing, structured and therapeutic approach. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND * Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive academically and emotionally * Support the development of pupils' confidence, independence, emotional regulation and social skills * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams and senior leaders * Monitor progress, adapt learning strategies and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews * Promote positive behaviour through consistent, trauma-informed practice Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification * Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD or associated needs * Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills * A patient, adaptable and resilient approach to teaching * Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one Benefits: * Competitive daily rate (£190–£240 DOE) with weekly pay * Long-term stability with potential for a permanent position * Supportive specialist school environment * Ongoing CPD and training opportunities * Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement * Opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people About Luma Education Recruitment Luma Education Recruitment specialises in placing exceptional education professionals within SEND schools, SEMH provisions, alternative provisions and specialist settings across the UK.
