Planning Associate / Senior Associate
About the role
Planning Associate / Senior Associate
National law firm | Leeds or Manchester | Career progression
I'm working with a highly regarded national law firm looking to grow its Planning team, with an opportunity for an ambitious Planning Solicitor to join at 2+ PQE.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established national practice with a strong reputation across the real estate, energy and infrastructure sectors. The team is involved in a broad range of high-quality work, advising an impressive client base on complex planning and development matters across the UK.
With the flexibility to be based in one of the firm's regional offices, this is a chance to access the quality of work and resources of a major national practice, whilst developing your career within a collaborative and supportive team.
The opportunity
You'll work alongside experienced planning practitioners on a varied and interesting caseload, with exposure to matters including:
Strategic planning advice and development projects.
Planning applications, appeals and judicial reviews.
Section 106 agreements and planning obligations.
Compulsory purchase orders and related compensation matters.
Development consent orders and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
Energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable energy developments.
Advising developers, landowners, public sector bodies and major infrastructure clients.
There is also scope to develop your experience across emerging areas of the planning market, working on projects of national significance.
What they're looking for
A qualified Solicitor with 2+ PQE.
Experience in planning law, ideally within a recognised planning or real estate practice.
A good understanding of planning and development matters, with exposure to contentious and/or non-contentious work.
Strong technical ability, commercial awareness and an enthusiasm for developing your practice.
Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to contribute to the continued growth of an established team.
Why consider this opportunity?
Join a recognised national law firm with an established market presence.
Work on complex, high-profile planning and infrastructure projects.
Access to a broad national client base and cross-practice expertise.
Genuine opportunity to develop your technical specialism and take on increasing responsibility.
Flexibility to be based within one of the firm's regional offices.
A collaborative environment with clear opportunities for progression.
