As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.You will be working in the HS2 Main Works, the SCS Joint Venture with Costain and Strabag, our HS2 Main Works South team is delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects – 26 miles of tunnels from London Euston to West Ruislip, along with viaducts, bridges and embankments that will connect communities for generations.We are currently looking for a Tunnel Shift Engineer who will:As the Tunnel Shift Engineer, you will:Support the Sub Agent and Shift Manager in setting up and undertaking the NT related worksEnsure the works are conducted in accordance with the project requirements including health and safety, where this is not observed reporting the non-conformance to the section engineer or supervisorEnsure all setting-out and quality control procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner, so as not to impede the construction programme Be conversant with all drawings, specifications and related information for the works, asking for advice when unsureDevelop and maintain a good working relationship with the Client and within the team promote an aim to exceed Client expectationsUnderstand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the projectWe are looking for:Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in a construction discipline2+ years’ experience within the Civil Construction IndustryRelevant CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cardSurvey / Setting Out experience Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in Tunnelling, Mining, Geotechnical Engineering2+ years’ experience with SCL or tunnel construction techniquesIOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)Tunnel Safety Training Scheme (TSTS) What we offer:24/7 digital GP service for you and your family Financial wellbeing and employee assistance Professional development Enhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave) Inclusion and Diversity We thrive through embracing differences as we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams.
