QHSE Manager – Manufacturing Environment | Bedfordshire
An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental processes within a fast-paced production environment.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong QHSE culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards
* Lead internal audits, corrective actions and management reviews
* Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and warranty issues
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone and FMEA
* Monitor quality metrics including defects, rework and returns
* Develop and maintain Health & Safety procedures in line with UK legislation
* Conduct risk assessments and oversee safe systems of work within a manufacturing environment
* Lead accident and incident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting where required
* Support Environmental Management processes aligned to ISO 14001
* Monitor environmental performance including waste, emissions and energy usage
* Produce QHSE reports and ensure documentation and compliance records are maintained
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous QHSE management experience within manufacturing or engineering
* Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety compliance
* Experience managing in-house quality procedures and audit processes
* Ability to carry out root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
* Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
* Hands-on approach with the ability to influence teams across production and engineering
Desirable
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification
* Knowledge of refrigeration or F-Gas regulations
* Lean or Six Sigma experience
* Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
