Pre-School Room Leader Location: Bushey, Hertfordshire Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent Start Date: September 2026 About the Role An independent school in Bushey is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and nurturing Pre-School Room Leader to join its Early Years team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional to lead a pre-school room within a respected independent school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming and stimulating environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, and academically, while supporting a dedicated team in delivering outstanding early years provision. Key Responsibilities * Lead the daily operation of the Pre-School Room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. * Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality learning opportunities in line with the EYFS framework. * Support and monitor children's progress, maintaining accurate observations and assessments. * Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. * Lead, motivate, and support room staff, promoting best practice across the setting. * Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are consistently met. * Contribute to the wider life of the school and Early Years provision. The Ideal Candidate Will Have * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS). * A relevant Early Years qualification. * Previous experience working within a pre-school, nursery, or Early Years setting. * Experience leading a room, managing a team, or supervising colleagues within an Early Years environment. * Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * The ability to create engaging learning experiences that support children's development and wellbeing. * A genuine passion for Early Years education and helping young children reach their full potential. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
