We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a highly technical team, working on the development of a next-generation medical device platform. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong embedded software background and proven experience working within safety-critical, regulated medical device environments.


The Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and verification of embedded software components for a next-generation platform.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing and verifying embedded software components
  • Developing real-time control loops
  • Designing and implementing software algorithms
  • Developing system logging and diagnostic frameworks
  • Implementing software update and upgrade mechanisms
  • Contributing to software architecture and technical design
  • Investigating and resolving software defects
  • Supporting software development throughout the full software lifecycle
  • Producing and maintaining regulated life sciences software documentation
  • Supporting regulatory compliance activities
  • Contributing to software lifecycle management and associated processes
  • Supporting wider software and engineering management activities
  • Working within a safety-critical development environment


About You

We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with:

  • Strong experience in embedded software development
  • Proven experience working on safety-critical systems
  • Previous experience developing Class III medical devices xwzovoh – essential
  • Strong understanding of software development within a regulated medical device environment
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and control loops
  • Experience with algorithm design and implementation
  • Understanding of software architecture, diagnostics and system logging
  • Experience with software update/upgrade mechanisms
  • Strong knowledge of the IEC 62304 software lifecycle process
  • Experience with ISO 14971 risk management
  • Experience producing and working with regulated software documentation
  • A structured and quality-focused approach to software development
