Management Accountant - Part QualifiedEdinburgh | Hybrid | Permanent | 45k - 50k We are currently working with a growing and well-established privately owned business in Edinburgh that is looking to add a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to its finance team.This is a great opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain broader exposure across management accounts, month-end, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.You'll work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and have genuine ownership of your responsibilities, alongside the opportunity to support and develop a more junior member of the team.The rolePreparing monthly management accounts and supporting schedules across multiple entities.Taking ownership of the month-end process, including accruals, prepayments, journals and depreciation.Completing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.Supporting cash-flow forecasting, budgeting and financial forecasting.Analysing actual performance against budget and providing clear variance analysis and commentary.Supporting VAT returns, statutory accounts and audit requirements.Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide accurate financial information and commercial insight.Reviewing and supporting the work of an Assistant Accountant, helping to maintain strong financial controls.Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and automation across the finance function.Supporting wider finance projects, financial analysis and ad-hoc commercial reporting.About youWe're looking for someone who is Part-Qualified or actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA and is ready to progress into a broader Management Accountant position.Ideally, you will have:2-4+ years' relevant finance experience, with strong management accounting exposure.Experience preparing management accounts and supporting schedules.Good understanding of month-end, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and variance analysis.Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.Good understanding of UK accounting principles and VAT.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage your own workload.Strong communication skills and confidence working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.A proactive approach, with an interest in process improvement and automation.Ideally, some experience supporting or reviewing more junior members of a finance team.Why consider it?Part-qualified Management Accountant opportunityEdinburgh-based with hybrid workingOpportunity to take genuine ownership of your workExposure to a broad range of management accounting and commercial financeSupportive senior finance teamOpportunity to develop your leadership and review responsibilitiesStrong scope for career progressionPart of a growing, privately owned organisationIf you're a Part-Qualified Accountant looking to move into a more rounded Management Accountant position, this could be an excellent next step.Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
