Design Engineer

Design Engineer / Watton / £30,000 - £35,000 Must be local to watton. This position is not eligible for sponsorship with this company. Position 1 Recruitment is working with a well-established engineering business in Watton to recruit a Design Engineer with strong mechanical design experience. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end design of specialist hazardous area heating systems, working on technically challenging projects within a supportive engineering team. Full-Time Permanent Monday–Thursday: 08:30 – 17:30 AND Friday: Half day Hybrid working: 3 days office / 2 days home (post-probation) Key Responsibilities: · Design hazardous area heaters from concept to completion · Produce 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor · Complete engineering calculations and technical design documentation · Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) · Ensure all designs meet certification standards and client requirements · Support Project Managers with technical input and project updates · Verify engineering drawings and documentation for accuracy and compliance · Liaise with document controllers, suppliers, and subcontractors · Monitor project time allocation and support efficiency improvements · Contribute to continuous improvement and standard product development · Support and mentor junior/trainee engineers where required You will have: · Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) · Experience in mechanical design engineering · Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
