Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Sixth Form College - City Centre Bristol Full Time, Permanent (Part Time considered) Actual Annual Salary: £33,951 - £36,222 (based on hours and weeks worked) Start Date: ASAP Join Our Community We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our sixth form college in Bristol. This is a pivotal role where you will play a central part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and welfare of our students. The Role As DSL, you will: Lead on all safeguarding and child protection matters across the college Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns Work closely with staff, students, parents/carers and external agencies Manage referrals and maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records Provide guidance, training and support to staff on safeguarding practices Promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the college communityAbout You We are looking for someone who: Has significant experience in safeguarding/child protection within an education or youth setting Has up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education) Is confident working with external agencies and managing complex cases Is highly organised, resilient and able to manage sensitive situations Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills Is committed to inclusion, diversity and student wellbeingA relevant safeguarding qualification and DSL experience are highly desirable.
