About the role
An excellent opportunity for a school or college leaver to start a career in accountancy while gaining a professional qualification and valuable practical experience from day one. Joining an independent and growing accountancy firm, you will gain exposure to both accounts and audit, working with a varied client base and developing your skills across different areas of practice.
You will study towards AAT as part of a structured Level 4 apprenticeship, with the opportunity to progress onto ACA once completed. As your knowledge develops, so will your responsibilities, giving you a clear route towards a long-term career in finance.

Accounts & Audit Apprentice – About The Role
You will combine your AAT studies with practical experience across both accounts and audit. Working alongside experienced members of the team, you will gain an understanding of how different types of businesses operate and how accountancy services are delivered to clients.
The role will give you a broad introduction to practice, with your responsibilities increasing as you develop your technical knowledge and confidence. Key responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
Support audit assignments and complete basic audit testing
Prepare working papers and supporting schedules
Assist with bookkeeping and accounting tasks where required
Gain experience working with clients across different sectors
Assist with day-to-day client queries
Develop your understanding of accounting standards and audit procedures
Work closely with senior members of the team
Take on additional responsibilities as your experience develops
The successful Accounts & Audit Apprentice will have:
