Tenancy Relations Officer | Hybrid (2-3 Days per Week, remainder remote) | £22.41 PAYE | £29.72 Umbrella (£31.15 Umbrella from Week 13) | 3-Month Temp Contract | Monday to Friday | 36 Hours per Week
Adecco are currently recruiting for a Tenancy Relations Officer on behalf of a public sector housing service in South London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of landlord and tenant legislation, homelessness prevention, and enforcement within the private rented sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting tenants from unlawful eviction and harassment while supporting residents to sustain their housing.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate complaints of illegal eviction, harassment, unlawful landlord practices, and tenancy-related disputes.
Provide advice and guidance to tenants, landlords, agents, and partner organisations.
Manage a varied caseload, carrying out investigations and gathering evidence where necessary.
Conduct home visits and attend court proceedings as a witness when required.
Work closely with internal teams and external agencies including landlords, solicitors, police, and housing partners.
Support homelessness prevention by helping residents remain in or regain access to accommodation.
Produce reports, correspondence, case records, and legal documentation to a high standard.
Ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and best practice.
Essential Requirements
Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including landlord and tenant law, homelessness legislation, and the Protection from Eviction Act.
Experience investigating tenancy-related complaints and managing complex casework.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Ability to gather and assess evidence and make sound decisions.
Experience working with vulnerable residents and managing sensitive situations.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a demanding workload independently.
