Freelance Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer Groundworks, S278 & Structures Packages Location: Heathrow to High Wycombe Corridor We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer to support a busy groundworks/structures subcontractor operating across multiple live projects between Heathrow and High Wycombe. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for consistent freelance work on technically challenging schemes within a well-established delivery team. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee and manage engineering activities across multiple sites * Ensure accurate setting out, QA, and compliance with specifications * Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project management * Review drawings, manage technical queries (RFIs), and resolve issues on site * Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality * Support programme delivery and ensure works are completed to schedule Requirements: * Proven experience in groundworks, earthworks, S278 works and structures packages. * Strong setting out and engineering management capability * Ability to manage multiple sites/projects simultaneously * Proficient with surveying equipment and engineering software * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Valid CSCS card (and relevant tickets preferred) What’s on Offer: * Competitive freelance rates * Engineering instruments, laptop, and phone provided by the client * Ongoing work across multiple projects * Payment via CIS (through a third-party payroll provider) If you’re a proactive and experienced Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer looking for your next freelance role, we’d like to hear from you.
