Salary: £30,000£40,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week, MondayFriday)
A specialist manufacturing business supplying advanced training solutions to military and law enforcement organisations is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join its Tool Repair department. This role supports production by maintaining, repairing, and manufacturing precision tooling to tight tolerances.
The Role
You will diagnose faults, repair tooling, and manufacture components using manual milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders. Working closely with production teams, youll ensure tooling performance supports efficient and high-quality output. Full training and development will be provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair precision tooling and machine components
Operate manual milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders to drawing tolerances
Read and interpret technical drawings
Collaborate with production to resolve tooling issues
Suggest improvements to tooling and processes
Maintain high standards of quality and safety
Requirements
Proven experience as a Toolmaker or precision machinist in a production environment
Strong knowledge of toolroom equipment and practices
Ability to work to tight tolerances xwzovoh and deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in toolmaking or mechanical engineering
