Accounting Insight and Advisory Manager

Role Overview

Join our growing national Finance Function Support team, focusing on private businesses in the Northern region. As a Manager, you will lead the reporting of annual financial statements and act as the controller for a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring annual compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) and resolving day‑to‑day client issues.

Responsibilities

• Shape client success, drive team performance, and contribute to the growth of our Finance Function Support team across the Northern region.
• Lead the delivery of premium service and high‑quality outcomes to SME clients.
• Manage job profitability and efficient delivery within agreed budgets.
• Take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, overseeing project timelines, billing, and client care.
• Develop strong, trusted relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Work with clients to deliver practical solutions to issues they face.
• Lead assignments and ensure smooth execution.
• Train and line‑manage team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with private client and corporate tax teams to meet deadlines and resolve key issues.
• Develop knowledge of specialist services and identify opportunities to add value.
• Stay up to date with technical developments and meet training requirements.

Qualifications

• CA or ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience post‑qualification.
• Experience with UK GAAP – FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Experience working in a professional practice, ideally within an accounting advisory team.
• A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
