Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care Full Time | Adult Social Care Team, Hybrid working  We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with strong local authority experience who is confident working autonomously and managing a complex caseload within a fast-paced adult social care setting. About the Role As part of the Adult Social Care team, you will undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for adults aged 18+ with disabilities, supporting individuals to maximise independence and achieve safe, person-centred outcomes. You will play a key role in assessing needs, identifying risks, recommending equipment and adaptations, and contributing to effective multi-agency working across health, housing, and social care services. Key Responsibilities Undertake Care Act-compliant Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with disabilities Apply sound clinical reasoning to assess risk, promote independence, and support safe discharge and community living Prescribe simple and complex equipment, including completion of associated risk assessments Complete Manual Handling assessments and provide safe moving and handling recommendations Assess for and recommend major adaptations in line with statutory eligibility criteria Refer for and contribute to Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) processes where appropriate Participate in duty triaging on a rota basis, including screening referrals, responding to urgent matters, and prioritising cases effectively Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case recordings Work collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, housing teams, and partner agencies Essential Requirements Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy Current HCPC registration Substantial recent experience within Adult Social Care in a local authority setting Demonstrable experience completing: Care Act assessments Risk assessments Manual Handling assessments Simple and complex equipment provision Strong working knowledge of: Major adaptation eligibility criteria Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) processes Equipment provision criteria Ability to independently manage a complex caseload Full-time availability is essential What We’re Looking For We are looking for a proactive and experienced Occupational Therapist who can work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality assessments and interventions within statutory frameworks. Strong communication, organisational, and partnership-working skills are essential.
