Mechanical Draughtsman

Location: Fenton, ST4 Job Type: Full-Time Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 | Friday: 07:30 - 11:00 Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Dependent on Experience) We are recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on bespoke engineering projects within a technically driven manufacturing environment, producing high quality mechanical drawings and supporting the successful delivery of innovative engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities * Produce accurate 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. * Create detailed manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings. * Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation. * Interpret engineering specifications and ensure drawings meet customer and manufacturing requirements. * Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and project managers to support project delivery. * Revise and update existing drawings and documentation as required. * Ensure all drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and company procedures. Requirements * Previous experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, Mechanical CAD Technician, or similar role. * Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, with the ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings. * Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes. * Experience creating assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Desirable * HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. * Experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, or bespoke machinery environment. * Knowledge of sheet metal, welded fabrications, machined components, and assemblies. * Familiarity with engineering change processes and document control systems.
