People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Warrington, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.

This role would suit applicants who have worked in a previous role of LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• 4 on / 4 off
• PM starts – 18:00–06:00
• 12-hour shifts (all breaks paid)

Rates of Pay:

• £15.53 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Yard shunting / movement of vehicles
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Ensuring all vehicles are moved in a safe manner
• Adhering to traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with site managers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements

Essential Skills:

The skills required to be a HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver are:

• Valid UK Category CE driving licence
• Minimum of six months' experience driving C+E vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Punctual with excellent time-keeping skills
• Good understanding xwzovoh of UK traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
