Role Overview: Zenovo are looking for an experienced Electronic Technician to join their client in Cambridge who design and manufacture globally recognised consumer electronics.
A successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and dis-assembling products that are not working correctly, identifying root causes and failure modes, and translate findings into clear corrective actions.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritise improvements, initiate change requests, and track outcomes.
This is a diverse, hands-on position that involves component-level fault finding, production assembly and supporting compliance activities.
Responsibilities of the role: Perform detailed component-level diagnostics and repairs on electronic products.
Conduct structured fault-finding using appropriate test equipment, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and bench power supplies.
Identify root causes and contributing factors across design, manufacturing and use.
Evaluate returned units and prepare clear, accurate repair solutions.
(Define, implement and track corrective actions) Maintain precise repair records, service documentation, and internal reports.
Monitor trends and flag emerging failure modes, especially with new products post-launch.
Support manufacturing and suppliers with insights to prevent recurrence.
Maintain safe practices and reliable diagnostic equipment.
Continuously improve analysis methods and workflow.
Key Experience Required: Demonstrable experience in component-level fault diagnosis and repair of electronic equipment.
Proven soldering and assembly capability (including PCB assemblies).
Practical experience in electronic assembly & dis-assembly Ability to confidently read and interpret circuit schematics and technical drawings.
Skilled in the use of standard electronic test equipment.
Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
Experience operating and maintaining 3D printing equipment.
Well-developed organisational skills with strong attention to detail in documentation. xwzovoh
Experience with structured problem solving methods (5 Whys, 8D) and basic change control.
