Extrusion Operator
Location: Swansea
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Shift Pattern: 12-Hour Rotating Shifts
Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Swansea, is currently looking to recruit an Extrusion Operator to join their production team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous manufacturing, machine operating or production experience who are looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment.
The Role
As an Extrusion Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion machinery, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Operate extrusion equipment in line with production schedules and company procedures.
Work towards departmental targets for safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction.
Carry out routine quality checks and ensure products meet required specifications.
Complete all production documentation and reports accurately.
Monitor machine performance and identify any faults or process issues.
Carry out basic troubleshooting and escalate maintenance concerns when required.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within the production area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing downtime.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience operating machinery or working within a manufacturing or production environment.
Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify and resolve basic machine issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible approach to working 12-hour shifts.
Positive attitude with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
