About the Role
We are seeking a talented iOS Developer to join CGI’s expanding mobile engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality native iOS applications that provide seamless and engaging user experiences. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams including product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performing mobile solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative digital products in a collaborative Agile environment, where your ideas and technical expertise will directly influence project outcomes. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week on‑site in Glasgow for local candidates or one day a month for remote professionals.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess proven experience in native iOS application development within Agile settings, with a strong understanding of mobile development best practices. A passion for creating exceptional user experiences and writing clean, maintainable code is essential. Candidates should be eager to stay current with the latest iOS technologies and frameworks and demonstrate effective collaboration skills with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Commercial experience developing native iOS applications
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective‑C
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third‑party libraries
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and responsive design
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation skills
- Familiarity with unit testing and automated testing approaches
- Proficiency with version control tools such as Git
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Continuous learning mindset and enthusiasm for new technologies
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle for iOS applications, including design, development, testing, and ongoing maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing native iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective‑C
- Creating intuitive, responsive, and user‑centric mobile interfaces
- Integrating and optimizing RESTful APIs and third‑party services
- Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices
- Conducting code reviews to ensure high‑quality standards
- Identifying and resolving bugs, performance issues, and application crashes
- Supporting existing mobile applications through continuous improvements and updates
- Participating actively in Agile ceremonies, including planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives
- Researching and implementing the latest iOS frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance application capabilities
