About the Opportunity

Bolt Technical are recruiting for a Buyer to join a growing manufacturing business that supplies bespoke electrical and automation solutions to customers across a wide range of industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional looking to develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, supporting production requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the procurement of materials and components to support production requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved
Monitor demand forecasts and place orders in line with business requirements
Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and cost-saving initiatives with suppliers
Manage supplier performance and proactively resolve supply chain issues
Support inventory management activities to maintain continuity of supply while minimising excess stock
Work closely with internal departments to support operational and commercial objectives
Assist with supplier quality concerns and corrective action activities where required
Identify opportunities for process improvements, supplier consolidation, and procurement efficiencies
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within internal systems

What They're Looking For

Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, or buying environment
Manufacturing or engineering sector experience
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
Commercial awareness with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery performance
Proactive and driven approach to problem-solving
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to contribute new ideas
