Payroll Officer

Transaction Recruitment are supporting a market-leading business based in Coalville, in their search for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their dynamic payroll function on a permanent basis. You'll take ownership of weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish for a workforce of 1,000+ employees, playing a key role in ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time. This opportunity offers hybrid working.
Beyond the day-to-day processing, there's a real opportunity to help shape how the payroll function operates — the team is keen to hear from someone who can look at current processes with a fresh eye and identify where improvements could be made, including exploring how technology could streamline the way payroll works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end for 1,000+ employees
* Calculating holiday pay and National Insurance
* Calculating SSP, SMP and SPP
* Carrying out manual payroll calculations
* Resolving payroll queries efficiently and professionally
* Keeping up to date with current payroll legislation
* Reviewing current payroll processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
