MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC Location: Southampton Salary: £34,000 - £37,500 DOE + Overtime Hours: Monday to Friday   This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse commercial vehicle fleet while benefiting from structured training, career progression and a great work-life balance.   What's on Offer ·£34,000 - £37,500 basic salary, depending on experience ·Overtime ·Monday to Friday working - no weekend shifts ·Annual salary reviews ·5-stage training programme with progression to Master Technician ·25 days annual leave + bank holidays ·Holiday entitlement increasing to 30+ days with service ·Birthday day off ·Pension and life assurance   The Role ·Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial rental vehicles ·Inspecting vehicle systems and components to ensure they are safe and operating correctly ·Identifying worn or defective components and carrying out repairs or replacement ·Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and accurately ·Test driving vehicles where appropriate and where the correct driving licence is held ·Accurately recording all work completed on the relevant computer systems ·Completing paperwork and job handovers to the Workshop Manager / Lead Technician ·Ensuring vehicles are left in a safe and roadworthy condition ·Working safely and maintaining high workshop standards   What We're Looking For ·NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification ·Previous experience working with HGVs, LCVs or commercial vehicles ·Full UK, Irish or EU Class C or CE manual driving licence ·Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills ·A proactive and detail-focused approach ·Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work ·A genuine interest in vehicle maintenance and developing their technical skills To apply or find out more, please contact Amy at Auto Skills UK.
