SEN Teaching Assistant
Permanent | Full-Time | Term Time Only
Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire East Salary: £22,996 - £25,068 per annum (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications) Hourly Rate: £12.87 - £14.03 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only

We are working with an independent specialist school in Wilmslow, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated needs. The Role
The school are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a committed and supportive team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development, helping them to feel safe, valued, and confident in their abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with learning activities and personal care needs
- Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
- Build warm, trusting relationships with pupils
- Assist teachers in delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
- Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils
- Support safeguarding and uphold the school’s values and ethos
About You
The school are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, enthusiastic, and child-focused
- Flexible and adaptable in supporting pupils with diverse needs
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Essential requirements:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / Level 3 or above)
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable:
- Level 2 or above xwzovoh qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Knowledge or experience of SEN, SEMH, or ASD
