The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business operating within a highly regulated engineering environment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager/ Planner to join their operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, coordinating production schedules, managing material availability, and ensuring customer delivery requirements are achieved. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency and supporting the continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules in line with customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow throughout the production process to ensure on-time delivery performance.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as required to address changing priorities.
  • Ensure material availability aligns with production requirements.
  • Liaise closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to support operational objectives.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and implement solutions to minimise disruption.
  • Generate and analyse planning data to support effective decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across planning and production functions.
  • Maintain accurate production planning records and reporting documentation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner, Supply Chain Planner, or similar planning role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Experience managing production schedules and material planning activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming operational challenges.
  • Competent user of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within an engineering, industrial manufacturing, aerospace, or high-specification production environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
