Continuous Improvement & Quality Engineer - Newton Abbot This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity for a CI & Quality Engineer seeking employment in an expanding and thriving company. The company provides hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical services to customers across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of a strong quality culture, driving continuous improvement, and improving business performance across the site. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key departments, the role will focus on identifying issues, understanding root causes, and implementing sustainable corrective actions. The organisation is accredited to ISO 9001:2015, and therefore a strong understanding of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles is essential. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering Solutions Centre, you will support the location in all aspects of Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained, improvement opportunities are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented. Manage internal and external non-conformances, supporting investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effective close-out. • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve site issues and drive continuous improvement. • Conduct internal audits, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation of corrective actions. • Analyse quality data, monitor KPIs, and provide regular quality performance reports to management. • Support customer and supplier quality activities, including audits, compliance visits, and issue resolution. • Ensure inspection processes, measurement equipment, and quality controls are maintained to required standards. • Review technical requirements, drawings, documentation, and processes to identify risks and improvement opportunities. • Support incoming inspection, final checks, and verification of customer requirements prior to dispatch. • Promote a culture of quality, problem solving, and continuous improvement across the business. Undertake such other duties, training &/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, & which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
