Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Leeds

Job Type: Full-time | Long-term / Temporary

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Engage Education is recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Leeds, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and learning disabilities.

What will the role involve?

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
Supporting children to access learning and develop their independence.
Helping manage behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
Encouraging communication, social skills and positive relationships.
Working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Who are we looking for?

Experience working with children or young people in a school, nursery, care or support work setting within the last 3 years.
A patient, caring and proactive approach.
