Senior Project Engineer

Senior Project Engineer Location: Norwich Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 Sector: Offshore Engineering / Energy If you’re stuck managing projects without real ownership, or spending more time firefighting than actually leading delivery, this role gives you the chance to take control of complex offshore engineering projects from handover through to final installation. This is a senior-level project engineering role within a well-established engineering business delivering technically challenging work across offshore structures, drilling and subsea environments. The role sits at the centre of project delivery, client management and operational coordination. You’ll take ownership of multiple projects, managing programme, cost, technical delivery and stakeholder communication throughout the full lifecycle. You’ll also act as a key escalation point internally, supporting junior engineers and helping drive standards across the wider team. The business needs someone who can lead calmly under pressure, manage complexity properly, and keep projects moving commercially and operationally. What you’ll be doing * Leading projects from handover through to offshore installation and completion * Managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting and commercial performance * Acting as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers and internal departments * Managing technical and operational risks across live projects * Supporting bids, quotations and project planning activity * Leading project kick-off meetings, reviews and progress reporting * Overseeing procurement, supplier coordination and project documentation * Supporting and mentoring Project Engineers and junior staff * Ensuring projects meet all QA, HSE and operational standards What they’re looking for * Experience delivering engineering projects within offshore, subsea, oil & gas or related sectors * Strong project ownership and client-facing capability * Commercial awareness and experience managing project financials * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive delivery under pressure * Background in mechanical, civil, structural or related engineering disciplines * Experience leading teams or mentoring engineers * Strong communication and problem-solving skills What’s on offer * £60,000 - £65,000 salary * Senior-level project ownership * Complex offshore engineering projects * Long-term progression opportunities * Exposure to technically challenging delivery work * Established engineering environment with high-value projects This role will suit someone who enjoys taking responsibility, solving problems properly and leading projects rather than simply coordinating them.
