Learning Mentor (SEND) Full job description Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Mentor (SEND) to join a well-established and supportive Primary school in the Burnley area. The position is full time, 5 days per week, due to start in September 2026 and is an ongoing long-term role. Position Details: Job Title: Learning Mentor (SEND) Location: Burnley, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing, Long Term Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week, 8.15am – 4pm (One day to have a 3.45pm finish) Daily Rate: £80 – £100 per day (dependant on experience) About the Role: * Ensure any barriers to learning are identified and overcome. * Work closely with staff and alongside children and their families, providing high quality care, advice and support. * Work with children and families across the whole school; from a variety of backgrounds. * Be committed to pastoral care and collaborative working. The Ideal Candidate Will: * Hold a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent). * Be confident when communicating with a variety of professionals in different contexts including face to face meetings. * Be who will spend time working with children in their classrooms when required. * Has experience of working with SEND children and families within EYFS, KS1 and KS2 mainstream school. * Has experience of nurturing child interaction and behaviour. * Is resilient, reflective and committed to working as part of a team. * Consistently has high expectations both for themselves and the children in their care. * Will ensure children are supported socially, emotionally and academically to make progress from their starting points. * Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people * Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history * Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration * Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several checks Why Work with Rotherwood Education? * Competitive daily pay * Friendly and experienced education recruitment specialists * Ongoing support throughout your placement * Opportunities to progress into long-term or permanent roles * Streamlined and efficient registration process If you're a committed Learning Mentor (SEND) looking for a fulfilling opportunity in a supportive Burnley Primary school, we’d love to hear from you.
