Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Skelmersdale – £26.55 Per Hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client based in Skelmersdale on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £26.55 per hour, weekly pay, a four-week rotating shift pattern including a full week off, and the opportunity to join an established manufacturing business.

Shifts

Four-week rotating shift pattern:

 • Week 1: Monday – Thursday, 18:00 – 06:00

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

 • Providing mechanical and electrical maintenance support in line with production requirements
 • Maintaining site services and facilities to minimise downtime
 • Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery
 • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment
 • Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
 • Following isolation and lockout procedures at all times
 • Maintaining equipment in line with preventative maintenance schedules
 • Keeping maintenance areas clean, organised and safe
 • Responding promptly to breakdowns and restoring equipment efficiently
 • Working in accordance with all Health and Safety legislation

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will need:

 • A time-served multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship
 • A recognised electrical qualification
 • An HNC or equivalent in a manufacturing or engineering discipline
 • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
 • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
 • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
 • Availability for an immediate start

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
