About the role
Young Person Support Worker
Precedo Healthcare are recruiting compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team working as a Young Person’s Support Worker in and around the Hyde area of Manchester.
Working as a Young Person’s Support Worker, you will be able to make a difference in the lives of young people who need daily support and encouragement in all their activities, both within the Service and out in the community.
What you will be doing;
* Supporting daily activities – Engaging with young people in fun and meaningful activities to help them grown and learn.
* Building connections – Using your excellent communication skills, you will connect with the young people and guide them through challenging situations whilst providing emotional support.
* Providing Personal Care – You will offer the necessary support with personal care needs in a respectful and compassionate way.
* Handling Challenging situations – You will de-escalate any difficult situations with patience, understanding and a calm approach, ensuring the wellbeing of the young people in your care.
What Precedo are looking for;
* You will have strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal and be able to connect with young people in a meaningful and effective way.
* You will be knowledgeable about conditions such as Autism, developmental delays and mental health challenges.
* You will be confident in your ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
* Be able to support young people with their personal care needs
* Hold an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS or be willing to fund one
* Being a driver with access to your own vehicle would be advantageous due to the location of the service
