An ambitious secondary school in Islington is seeking a committed and creative Head of Design & Technology to lead its Art, Design and Technology Department on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching, learning, curriculum development and departmental improvement across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Raise standards, develop schemes of work, monitor student progress and ensure pupils benefit from an ambitious and well‑planned curriculum.
• Lead and support teachers, trainee teachers and technicians within the department, ensuring high standards of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Use assessment data to plan interventions, develop staff and maintain high expectations for behaviour, presentation and achievement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Strong subject knowledge and a proven record of improving student outcomes.
• Strong organisation, communication and leadership skills.
