Programme Support Officer Location: Chesterfield, East Midlands Employment Status: Permanent Salary: £30,024 - £31,537 About the Role This is a defining moment for transport in the East Midlands. We are offering opportunities for Programme Support Officers to provide comprehensive project and programme coordination to the Transport Investment team. This role will be central to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of programmes and supporting the effective delivery of complex transport projects. Working closely with officers across the Transport Investment Team and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure that projects are well-managed, properly documented, and delivered efficiently. Our region is home to award-winning bus companies, an established tram system, the HQ of the new GB Railways, and birthplace of the first workplace parky levy in Europe - this is a region with both track record and vision. Key Responsibilities Provide project and programme management support across transport investment schemes and initiatives Assist in monitoring project timelines, milestones, deliverables and key activities Maintain and update action logs, risk registers and programme documentation Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and supporting materials Support financial administration, including tracking project budgets and expenditure Develop and maintain systems, procedures and documentation to ensure robust programme governance and audit trails Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, including diary management and logistical planning Maintain accurate project files, records and reporting documentation Draft communications, including emails, reports and presentations Collect, compile and analyse data to support reporting and decision-making Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data and programme documentationLeadership Responsibilities Where applicable, the role includes: Providing support and guidance to colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment Supporting effective communication across teams and stakeholders Assisting in coordinating workloads and priorities to support programme deliveryAbout You We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with strong administrative and coordination skills, who is keen to support the delivery of complex transport programmes. Essential Skills and Experience: Experience supporting or coordinating multi-faceted projects or programmes Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Ability to work both independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy Working knowledge of project management principles Experience supporting governance processes and ensuring compliance with procedures Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentDesirable: Experience working within a public sector or programme delivery environment Experience supporting financial tracking or programme budgets A qualification in business administration, project management or a related fieldQualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Project Management or a related discipline is desirableWhy Join EMCCA This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a high-profile regional transport programme.
