A Belfast-based opportunity awaits you with a forward-thinking organisation that plays a key role in the UK and Irish markets. As a Management Accountant, you'll contribute to the financial success of operations spanning multiple sites.
Your new role
In this position, you will take on a variety of responsibilities that encompass financial reporting and analysis.
- Produce and review monthly management accounts in line with Group requirements and deadlines.
- Review all balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with the year-end audit process.
- Support the production of the annual budget, including
- Regular performance reviews
- Identifying areas of concern
- Collaborating with departmental managers to enhance profitability
- Monitor and review departmental costs and performance against agreed plans and budgets, taking timely corrective action on negative variances.
- Prepare statutory accounts and other required documentation for legal entities as directed by the Group.
- Oversee system changes or enhancements, ensuring business risks are minimised and appropriate controls are in place.
- Participate in various projects, including:
- Reviewing job costing standards
- Developing performance dashboards
- Preparing business plans for Capex projects
- Support the Internal Audit programme.
To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Ideally, you will have 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or be in the final stages of completing one.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and a proactive attitude.
- The ability to manage tight deadlines and pay exceptional attention to detail.
