About the role

Want to spend your summer looking after students in Cambridge? This organisation runs international residential summer programmes for students aged 14–18. Students live and study in Cambridge colleges, with classes and sport on site.

As Welfare Director, you’ll make sure every student gets the right care and support throughout their stay. You’ll report to the Programme Director and lead the pastoral care team, guiding supervisors and teaching staff on welfare. You’ll also be the main contact for parents, doctors, nurses and other outside services.

Programme dates – Summer 2027

You’ll live in Cambridge for the length of each programme you work.

  • Programme Preparation Week: Monday 28 June – Saturday 3 July 2027 (not essential but preferred to attend)
  • Friday 2 July – Saturday 17 July 2027
  • Friday 16 July – Saturday 31 July 2027
  • Friday 23 July – Saturday 7 August 2027
  • Friday 30 July – Saturday 14 August 2027

You can apply for one, two or all of the programmes. Paid induction training takes place on the first Friday and Saturday of your first programme. If this clashes with your graduation, other arrangements may be possible.

What you’ll do:

  • Keep an overview of students’ medical information and any existing health needs, checking with parents where needed
  • Track any illness, injuries or incident...
