CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading specialist insurance brokers within the Media sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join their Cardiff team.

A Little About the Business

You'll be joining a close-knit team of just eight highly experienced insurance professionals, many of whom have spent more than a decade in the industry.

The Directors themselves bring over 20 years' experience, having previously worked with some of the biggest names in the insurance market.

Despite their considerable expertise, there's no hierarchy for hierarchy's sake here.

The business has been built around family values, mutual respect and a genuine commitment to supporting one another.

Everyone works together, everyone contributes, and when somebody needs a hand, the team rallies around them.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Account Executive to take ownership of an established £250,000 book of business, consisting predominantly of mid-corporate clients.

You'll inherit an existing client portfolio rather than having to build one from scratch, with the opportunity to develop and strengthen those relationships over time.

Working within a specialist brokerage with an excellent reputation in the Media sector, you'll be trusted to manage your clients professionally, backed by a knowledgeable and collaborative team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Taking ownership of an established £250,000 commercial insurance portfolio.

Managing and developing relationships with a range of mid-corporate clients.

Providing expert insurance advice across a variety of commercial risks and covers.

Overseeing renewals, identifying changing client requirements and ensuring appropriate insurance solutions are provided.

Building strong relationships with insurers and negotiating competitive terms.

Identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts and grow portfolio revenue.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the high standards of service the business is known for.

Providing a genuinely personal, relationship-led service to clients.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for somebody who combines strong technical commercial insurance knowledge with the personality and relationship-building skills needed to thrive in a smaller, specialist brokerage.

You'll ideally bring:

A minimum of five years' experience within commercial insurance broking.

Proven experience managing mid-corporate commercial insurance clients.

A broad understanding of commercial insurance products and complex client requirements.

Strong account management, renewal negotiation and client servicing skills.

The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and insurers.

A professional, approachable and commercially aware personality.

A collaborative attitude and a willingness to contribute to a close-knit team.

Previous experience within Media Insurance would naturally be beneficial, although the key requirement is a solid background dealing with mid-corporate commercial risks.

What's on Offer?

£60,000–£80,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
Annual bonus in addition to your basic salary.
Hybrid working, with Mondays and Fridays working from home.
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
