Design Engineer

Position: Design Engineer (Mechanical) Location: Stockton-on-Tees Salary: Circa £45k dependant on experience Mechanical Design Engineer required for a well-established engineering company based in Stockton-on-Tees. Our client designs and manufactures specialist equipment and engineering solutions for a range of industries and is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture. Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview Designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks and CAD software Producing detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation Carrying out design calculations and structural analysis to support engineering solutions Performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting of design and product issues Collaborating with manufacturing, project, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical and commercial requirements Supporting product development activities from concept through to production Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across products and processes Ensuring all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and company procedures Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD software Experience producing engineering drawings and technical schematics Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and system design Ability to undertake engineering calculations and structural assessments Experience carrying out root cause analysis and fault-finding activities Working knowledge of SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) would be advantageous, although training can be provided Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration Salary: Circa £45,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications Performance-related bonus structure Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Company pension scheme Health and wellbeing programme Free on-site parkingBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
