Surfacing Supervisor Location: Surrey Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Benefits: Company van and comprehensive benefits package Contract Type: Permanent The Opportunity Morson is currently recruiting for an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join a leading highways organisation, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of surfacing works across Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways professional with a strong background in road surfacing and resurfacing operations.
You will be responsible for supervising site teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are safely set up, delivered to specification and completed efficiently, with a focus on quality and getting things right first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising surfacing gangs and subcontractors across carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.
- Planning and coordinating daily site activities, including labour, plant and materials.
- Ensuring surfacing works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
- Setting out and checking traffic management arrangements in line with Chapter 8 requirements.
- Monitoring workmanship and quality to ensure all works meet the required specifications and standards.
- Carrying out site inspections, completing site records and delivering toolbox talks and site briefings.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental procedures.
- Liaising with residents, council officers and other stakeholders, acting as a professional point of contact on site.
- Identifying and resolving site issues to maintain productivity and minimise disruption.
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising highways surfacing and resurfacing works.
- Strong technical knowledge of road surfacing operations, asphalt materials and associated processes.
- Experience managing surfacing gangs, subcontractors and site activities.
- Good understanding of highways specifications and quality standards.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Valid CSCS card.
- NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
