Our people work on market-leading matters that driveinnovation, growth, and transformation around the world.For AshurstPerkins Coie, innovation is our tradition.What makes Ashurst Perkins Coie a great place to work?Career advancement - client secondment opportunities, globalopportunities, and award-winning Learning & Development programsFamily & caring - 26 weeks paid parental leaveHealth and wellbeing benefits, gym membership and discountedcorporate health plansFlexible work optionsThe Opportunity:We are looking for an ambitious 1-4 yearqualified lawyer to join our leading Financial Regulatory team inthe London office.The role requires a strong understandingof the technical aspects of UK and EU financial services regulationperimeter, with wide experience across a number of differentregulatory sectors and a client-focused approach to deliveringcomplex legal advice.We have a broad practice and this rolewill be perfectly suited to an individual who wants to develop awider understanding of financial markets, the regulatory environmentin which regulated firms operate and work for a diverse range ofclients on complex and strategic mandates.In this role, you will be expected toleverage your regulatory expertise to advise clients on a variety ofcomplex regulatory matters.This is a full-time, permanent role based in our London office withhybrid working.More information can be found in the job description attached tothe role on our careers siteAbout you:Ideally applicants will have skills and experience in most or many ofthe following areas:Regulatory Expertise:Familiarity with bank and investment firm regulation, includingCRR/CRD and MiFID as a minimum; and/orExperience in buy-side fund and asset management regulation,including AIFMD, ESG regulations, MiFID, and IFPR; and/orExperience advising on cross-border regulatory matters, includingcoordinating with regulators in multiple jurisdictions or advisingon the regulatory implications of international transactions; and/orPayments, crypto and broad FinTech experience with a deepgrounding in the underlying regulations and associated legal frameworks.For one or more of the above areas, you will have:advised clients on the relevant regulatory aspects by way ofwritten and oral advice;reviewed and amended documents related to that advice (such asterms and conditions, policies or procedures or associated legaldocuments, where relevant); anda practical understanding of how the regulation impacts clientsand an ability to turn advice into clear, practicalsolutions/recommendations for clients, not just reciting the law or guidance.Client Interaction:Confident in client interactions, running matters, and presentingto both internal teams and clients.Strong written advice with a focus on presenting answers toclients, not just thinking or outlining analysis.Meticulous attention to detail.A demonstrable interest in business development and clientrelationship management.Broader Interests:A genuine interest in finance, financial markets and the globalenvironment in which they operate.A desire to develop experience and drive career progression in awider range of regulatory matters, including financial marketinfrastructure providers, exchanges, sell-side firms, commercialbanks, crypto and digital assets, retail brokers, fintech, and digitalisation.Excited at the prospect of working on leading, transformationalprojects; shaping regulatory change and thinking outside the box todeliver real change for clients.#LI-HYBRID
