About the role

Overview

We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel (Sales) to join our Legal Department and provide dedicated legal support to our Sales & Commercial teams. Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, with a dotted‑line relationship to the Vice President Sales, you will play a key role in supporting the Company’s commercial objectives while ensuring legal risks are effectively identified, managed, and mitigated. This is a great opportunity for a proactive legal professional who enjoys working closely with others in a fast‑paced, commercially focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including power purchase agreements, electricity supply agreements, and related ancillary contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Commercial teams to deliver pragmatic legal advice.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract templates.
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and governance frameworks.
  • Support cross‑functional projects and drive legal best practice across the business.
  • Contribute to the development and training of colleagues on key contractual and legal risk matters.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor NQ or PQE.
  • Ability to identify critical business issues, negotiate major contracts, structure collaborative business enterprises, and lead teams of internal executives and external professionals.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, with the ability to negotiate and persuade, and a sound understanding of corporate and commercial law.
  • Broad knowledge of contracting structures.
