BAE Systems (Land Sector) is looking for a Product Development Engineer to support the development and delivery of defence products at their Glascoed site. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on technical documentation, trials activity, safety compliance paperwork, and configuration management .

Location: Glascoed, Monmouthshire ( NP15 1XL ) - on-site
Contract length: 12 months
Working pattern: 37 hours over 4 days (Mon-Thurs 07:15-17:00 , Friday off )
IR35: Inside IR35
Rate: £38.25/hr Umbrella
Headcount: 1

Responsibilities

Produce and manage technical product specifications
Write and review technical reports and supporting engineering documentation
Plan, support, and document product trials
Create and maintain safety paperwork , ensuring adherence to safety protocols
Support/maintain configuration management activities and documentation
Work closely with internal stakeholders to support delivery across the product development lifecycle
Ensure compliance to relevant standards, procedures, and regulations

Required experience / skills

Strong technical engineering capability (hands-on, xwzovoh practical approach)
Proven experience with: Technical report writing
Specification writing
Supporting or running trials
Producing safety documentation / working to safety procedures
Configuration management (processes, documentation, control)

Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Defence/regulated engineering experience preferred
