About the role

At Cumnor Hall, we believe that living with dementia shouldn't mean missing out on the things that make life meaningful. Based in Ayr, our welcoming residential care home provides specialist dementia care in a warm, supportive environment where everyone is valued for who they are.
We recognise that everyone's experience of dementia is different. As a Care Worker, you'll do much more than provide day-to-day support. Provide compassionate, individualised care that promotes dignity, independence and choice.
* Understand how people communicate their needs, recognising potential unmet needs and responding with empathy and creativity- Take an active role in developing and reviewing care plans, identifying personal outcomes and supporting people to achieve them.
* Work closely with families and colleagues, recognising the important contribution they make to each person's care.
* Use your initiative, share ideas and develop creative approaches that improve people's experiences and quality of life.
You'll enjoy getting to know people, exploring their interests and finding creative ways to support their independence, choices and wellbeing. You'll bring empathy, adaptability and a willingness to learn, recognising that every person experiences dementia differently. You'll be confident working collaboratively, contributing ideas and taking an active role in providing high-quality care. Previous experience in dementia care is welcome but not essential. You'll have access to specialist dementia training aligned with Scotland's Promoting Excellence Framework, alongside opportunities to develop your knowledge through dementia masterclasses covering meaningful activity, nutrition, pain management and palliative care. We also offer opportunities to work towards an SVQ Level 3, develop through our Dementia Ambassador programme and become a champion in an area you're passionate about. You'll be part of a supportive team where your ideas are valued, your professional development matters and you're encouraged to help shape the care we provide. Ready to do more than provide care? CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. During that time, we have worked hard to understand the needs of the people who turn to us for help and with them have been at the forefront of pioneering services which have literally changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. Posts close at midnight on the indicated date.
