About the role
REED are seeking an experienced and organised Science Technician to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within a busy Science department.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing practical lessons, maintaining laboratory resources, supporting staff and learners, and ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
Science Technician (Term-Time Only)
Location: South London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary, Term-Time Only
Expected End Date: the academic year
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Prepare, set up and clear practical science lessons and demonstrations.
- Ensure equipment, chemicals and materials are available and maintained to support curriculum delivery.
- Assist teaching staff with practical activities and demonstrations.
- Monitor laboratory health and safety, including risk assessments and COSHH requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of accidents, incidents and equipment maintenance.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies and monitor budgets where required.
