Science Instructor - Northampton
Location: Northampton
Start Date: June or September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Position
Pay Rate: £120-£190 per day (based on experience and responsibilities)

We are currently recruiting for a Science Instructor to join a supportive secondary school in Northampton from June or September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates, experienced tutors, cover supervisors, or unqualified teachers looking to build their experience within a school setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Science department to deliver engaging lessons and support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering engaging and structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Supporting lesson planning and adapting materials to meet different learning needs
Explaining scientific concepts in clear and accessible ways
Maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
Supporting students with classwork, practical activities, and independent learning
Tracking pupil progress and providing feedback where required
Participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and wider school activitiesWho We're Looking For:
Graduates with a degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science, etc.)
Candidates with experience working with young people or within education
Individuals with strong communication skills and confidence leading groups
Enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive team players
Those considering future teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or QTS Apprenticeships
Applicants with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain oneWhat You'll Gain:
