REED Education are delighted to be working with a friendly, small independent school in Cambridge that is looking to appoint a School Maintenance Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis from November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments. Working as part of the school's estates and facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring that the school grounds, buildings, and facilities are maintained to a high standard for students, staff, and visitors.
The Role
As a School Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks across the school site
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance and site inspections
- Maintaining school grounds and outdoor areas to a high standard
- Supporting the setup of classrooms, halls, and school events
- Monitoring health and safety standards across the site
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required
