Horticulture Lecturer
Location: Worcestershire
Salary: £27,800–£41,300 FTE (actual salary £11,200–£16,800 per annum)
Contract: Permanent, part-time, 15 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Working days: Thursday and Friday
Think FE is recruiting a Horticulture Lecturer for a land-based college in Worcestershire. You’ll predominantly teach RHS Level 2 and 3 courses to adult learners, helping them develop their practical skills and horticultural knowledge.
This could suit an experienced lecturer or a horticulture professional who has trained apprentices or junior colleagues and would like to move into teaching. You’ll need a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
The role
Deliver engaging horticulture lessons, predominantly on RHS Level 2 and 3 adult courses.
Plan lessons and prepare teaching resources.
Assess learners’ work, provide feedback and maintain accurate student records.
Provide teaching cover across adult, apprenticeship and school-leaver programmes where appropriate.
Support safeguarding, health and safety, and course quality assurance.
What you’ll need
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Horticulture.
GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
A teaching qualification, or willingness to gain one.
Relevant horticultural knowledge and the ability to explain practical techniques clearly.
An organised approach to planning, assessment and supporting learners.
