English Teacher Needed Urgently – Immediate Start in Harlow!

Are you a passionate and experienced English Teacher looking for an immediate teaching opportunity in Essex?

We are currently recruiting for a qualified English Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school in Harlow (CM18) on a supply basis, starting as soon as possible and continuing until the Christmas break, with the possibility of an extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher looking for a short-term placement with the potential for ongoing work.

The school is keen to review CVs immediately and arrange trials with suitable candidates.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons, supporting students in developing their literacy, communication and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging English lessons in line with the secondary curriculum.

Teaching English Language and English Literature to secondary-aged students.

*

Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

*

Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining high expectations.

*

Adapting teaching methods to support students of different abilities.

*

Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

*

Working collaboratively with the English department and wider teaching team.

*

Supporting students in developing confidence and achieving their academic potential.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

*

Have experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.

*

Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

*

Are confident managing a classroom and engaging students of varying abilities.

*

Are adaptable, reliable and able to settle quickly into a new school environment.

*

Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

*

Are available to start immediately or at short notice.

*

Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
