Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Salary: Up to £45,500 depending on skills and experience Join BAE Systems and you’ll be part of something bigger. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply knowledge and understanding to engineering theories, concepts, practices, principles and approaches and be able to apply theoretical engineering knowledge, experience and skills to develop products and services, specifications, designs and developments to resolve technical and performance issues. You will also design and develop solutions to a limited range of engineering situations and issues. Apply knowledge, skill and experience in company products, services, approaches, techniques and governance and work under technical supervision to resolve common engineering problems on a range of standard products and services Undertake functional design and/or provide advice and qualification for the scope of responsibility and provide evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements and safety Apply theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge, experience and skills to develop products & services, specifications, designs and developments You will have a HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering You will have experience using 2D CAD packages such as AutoCAD You will have specific knowledge of Systems on Boats The Future Products Engineering team: Join a team at the forefront of maritime innovation and help shape the future of commando operations. Beyond this programme, you will have the chance to collaborate with the wider Future Products Team, who are currently designing and manufacturing Herne, our Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV).
